The article focuses on collection of papers titled "The Adams-Jefferson Letters: The Complete Correspondence Between Thomas Jefferson and Abigail and John Adams," written by Jefferson and Abigail Adams and edited by Lester J. Towards the end of his life, John Adams was told by an acquaintance who had visited Jefferson that the sage of Monticello kept a large folio Volume on which was written libels about Jefferson, and a collection of newspaper articles and pamphlets "vilifying, calumniating and defaming" the third president, while Jefferson reported that the collection was not created by him.
