- Title
OPPOSITION COOPERATION IN ELECTORAL AUTHORITARIAN REGIMES: THEORY AND EVIDENCE FROM RUSSIA.
- Authors
KORTUKOV, DIMA
- Abstract
The article explores the dynamics of opposition cooperation in electoral authoritarian regimes, focusing on the deliberate strategies employed by the regime to hinder oppositional collaboration. It mentions that the analysis, based on five elections to Russia's State Duma from 1999 to 2016, identifies two central elements of the regime's strategy: manipulation of electoral rules and the creation of pseudo-oppositional parties.
