- Abstract
The article discusses the concept of time in Balkan languages, focusing on the lexicon of seasonal feasts. It examines the influence of the Orthodox church and Byzantine Greek. The author comments on the mutual influence of pagan rituals and Christian ideas, focusing on the existence of paganism in names of Christian feasts. Other topics discussed include folk etymology, ecclesiastical Latin, and folk festivals that celebrate animals. The author explores adaptations of names of saints and the words "annunciation" and "epiphany."
