- Abstract
Volleyball as a specialized sports discipline is a complex pedagogical process. It embodies activities aimed at acquiring new theoretical knowledge related to the character of the game, building the necessary skills and habits for its management, increasing the level of motor skills, and educating on a number of valuable qualities in its practitioners. The aim of the research is to study the opinion and competencies of students in the discipline "Physical Education and Sports - volleyball", both in high school and during their studies at the University of Forestry. The study was conducted on a sample of 50 students in first- and second-year of studies from the University of Forestry, that studied "Physical education and sport - volleyball". We applied a specially designed questioner, with 12 different items. The results of the study were analyzed and presented in percentages (%). Results suggest that majority of students consider volleyball classes as interesting and with proper workload is interesting. Most of one attending volleyball classes, didn't have any difficulties learning the volleyball rules. The results indicated several critical points that can be improved. Based on results, we provided recommendations for improving volleyball classes for students.
