- Title
Religion, World Order, and Peace: Jewishness and Global Justice.
- Authors
Israel, Jeff
- Abstract
The article, part of a special section marking a decade since the Millennium World Peace Summit of Religious and Spiritual Leaders held at the United Nations in 2000, discusses the theme of "Religion, World Order, and Peace" from the perspective of Judaism. The unique position of Jews in world affairs is discussed, because of their three-part representation as a religion, an ethnic group, and a state (Israel). Also discussed is the distinction between peace and justice, and concerns that a specifically religious perspective may not help resolve conflicts such as that between Israel and the Palestinians.
