- Abstract
The Academic League of Allergology and Immunology (LAAI), founded in 2018, aims to deepen in immunology and allergology in a multidisciplinary way, working together with the community, in order to promote health and prevent and treat diseases. The installation of the pandemic scenario, in March 2020, required adaptations by LAAI, which sought to present varied topics related to allergology and immunology via online platforms to maintain the pillar of extension in a productive way, through weekly informative content on LAAI's Instagram and Facebook. The present study aims to elucidate the success of the league's social networks by determining our target audience, as well as measuring the reach of the posts made by LAAI during the pandemic. Data were obtained in April 2021, through the league's Facebook and Instagram, covering information about the number of likes, comments, shares and reach reached, in addition to the number of views obtained in the posted videos. It was found that the followers are predominantly young women residing in Alfenas and that the topics of greatest interest to the community were topics involving allergology. Publications made on both social networks of the league reached, on average, 174.32 people per post, with an average of likes of 18.94, in addition to 3.96 shares and 1 comment per post. The average views per video on Instagram was 123.78. The use of digital media, especially Instagram, was fundamental in this pandemic context for LAAI to remain active, transmitting information to a greater number of people in a promising way.
