The article presents the authors' views on several recommendations from the US Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) for screening for depression in adults. It informs that the USPSTF published systematic reviews and recommendations indicate that sufficiently reliable patient-reported screening scales for depression are readily available and feasible in primary care, and such screening can lead to accurate diagnosis and treatment in primary care.
