News From the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Abstract
The article presents news briefs from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as of January 26, 2016. A study found that more than 200,000 college athletes are injured in competition or practice each year, with men's football and wrestling posing the highest risks. A recent study suggests that increased HIV and hepatitis C virus infections in rural and suburban areas with injected opioid and heroin epidemics may push health officials to rethink syringe exchange programs.
