- Abstract
The article discusses the impact of right-to-try advocacy and legislation on U.S. medicine. Topics include the response to the movement by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), advocacy by patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and responses by drug manufacturers to right-to-try advocacy. The speed of FDA drug approval is addressed in relation to the risks of experimental treatment. Transparency is discussed in relation to access to drugs.
