- Authors
Gostin, Lawrence O.; DeBartolo, Mary C.; Hougendobler, Daniel A.
- Abstract
The authors look at health care access in the U.S. and the U.S. Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), lauding the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in the case King v. Burwell which involved a challenge to the subsidies provided for low-income people purchasing health insurance in exchanges established under the law. Topics include the reduction the ACA has brought about in the number of Americans lacking health insurance and states opting out of its Medicaid expansion.
