- Title
Dynamic covalent chemistry: Tales from the cryptates.
- Authors
Cantrill, Stuart
- Abstract
The article focuses on the study conducted by a team of researchers led by Max von Delius which examines the use of dynamic covalent chemistry in the self-assemble of cage-like molecules. Topics include the formation of monometallic complex, known as cryptate, due to the reaction between trimethyl orthoacetate and diethylene glycol in the presence of acid catalyst and sodium ions, the importance of molecular sieves, and the slow movement of the sodium ion inside and outside of the cryptate.
