- Title
Nano-plasmonics: Chirality transfer takes a jump.
- Authors
Mujica, Vladimiro
- Abstract
The article discusses the study by Ewan Blanch and colleagues which investigates the transfer of chirality between biomolecules and a spatially separated achiral dye. Blanch and colleagues reported that dye-functionalized metallic nanoparticles can be used in detecting chiral biomolecules through chirality transfer. The study concludes that initial charge-transfer which is associated with the formation of a chemical bond between nanoparticle and analyte can be accompanied by spin transfer.
