- Abstract
One of the risks that concerns patients with advanced cancer disease are pressure ulcers. Although this problem is as old as humanity itself, professionals still have not sufficient knowledge about all mechanisms of their appearance and efficient methods of prevention. In this paper the authors present results and efficacy of 2-year prospective observation study of the effectiveness of prevention of pressure ulcers in hospitalized palliative care patients recorded on the 1st, 7th and 15th days of a patient's stay in the hospice ward, discussed together with the comparison of two measurement scales to assess risk factors.
