- Abstract
The article examines several areas needed to be prioritized for research on snakebites and scorpion stings in the Brazilian Amazon. It states that envenomings pose a high burden on the society as well the economy, however there are no programmes for control and prevention. The Brazilian government's schemes for control and prevention of snakebites and other poisonous animals. Other topics include treatment options for snakebites and scorpion sting envenomings.
