The article discusses Florida's Supreme Court case Ortiz v. State in which the Court adopted limited scope of community caretaker doctrine which is never applied in warrantless searches of homes. It also mentions the U.S. Supreme Court case Cady v. Dombrowski in relation to the discussed case which identifies detection, investigation, or acquisition of evidence in the violation of a criminal statute and describes the U.S. Fourth Amendment rights.
