- Abstract
More than 50% of patients requiring indwelling catheterization after surgery experienced catheter-related bladder discomfort. Although its mechanism is not completely understood, this systematic review and metaanalysis shows the use of dexmedetomidine attenuates bladder discomfort caused by urinary catheterization.
