- Abstract
The article presents a mathematical programming based design method for designing man-portable power generation systems for varying power demand. The optimal operation of a system at a given power demand is transcribed into a mathematical program. To form a final two-stage formulation, the power demand specific programs are incorporated into another upper level mathematical program encoding design requirements. The design and operational parameters of the power generation system consist of a solution to the formulation.
