- Abstract
A letter from the magazine's editor is presented. Several articles in the issue focus on the history of gay and lesbian theatre. The plays "The God of Vengeance" and "Wat Niet Mag..." were considered controversial. The plays of Joe Orton in London, England and Charles Ludlam and his Ridiculous Theatrical Company in New York in the 1960s were important in the history of gay theatre. Orton's characters are described as "horny" and "sex-starved." Ludlam's parodies included drag queens. Playwright Rainer Werner Fassbinder's work also includes gay characters.
