The article presents the author's views on extension of border policing into everyday activities in Great Britain. A border is a place where most of us don't want to be for any longer than the time it takes to clear the queues at immigration control. Topics discussed includes extension of border enforcement, Borderscapes research project and close proximity between people of different national and ethnic backgrounds.
