THE WITKIN BURIAL SITE.

- Abstract
The article discusses a burial site discovered in Arapahoe County, Colorado. The Witkin Burial Site was discovered by construction workers during the building of the Witkin Homes subdivision. Authorities removed a skeleton from the site which was examined by faculty and students from the University of Colorado. Stone knives and bone tools were also recovered. The position of the body suggested the burial could be related to the Plains Woodland culture but the lack of additional artifacts at the site and the dating of the skeleton to 1240 BCE through radiocarbon dating conflicted with that theory.
