- Abstract
The article focuses on a study conducted by researcher Belshe R.B. and colleagues which evaluates the immune correlates of protection against herpes simplex virus (HSV-1) genital disease in women vaccinated with gD2 vaccine manufactured by the pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline. The study revealed the importance of vaginal antibodies and T cells in a prophylactic vaccine.
