- Title
A Heideggerian Cinema?: On Terrence Malick's The Thin Red Line.
- Authors
Sinnerbrink, Robert
- Abstract
The article examines the relationship between philosopher Martin Heidegger and film in relation to the motion picture "The Thin Red Line," directed by Terrence Malick. Two approaches to the film are also discussed, such as a Heideggerian approach that reads the film as exemplifying Heideggerian themes and a film as a philosophical approach. The idea of a Heideggerian thinking of cinema is also explored.
