- Authors
Benson, Edward
- Abstract
The article examines attempts to aid the Sahrawi refugees of Western Sahara. The article notes that the refugee problem grew out of the armed conflict between the Polisario Front guerrilla organization and the government of Morocco which claims the region of Western Sahara. The central focus of the article is a humanitarian measure undertaken by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees that would, among other things, reunite refugee families and establish postal and telephone communications among the refugee camps in the region.
