- Title
TEMPORAL CHANGES IN CONTAMINATED SEDIMENT: A NEGLECTED ASPECT OF ECOLOGICAL RISK ASSESSMENT?
- Authors
Stewart, Carol; Conwell, Claire
- Abstract
The article proposes a further additional line of evidence (LOE), which is the inclusion of an assessment of changes over time in contaminated sediment. It is noted that the LOE is likely to be of particular value to decision makers in situations where sediment contamination is at the less severe end of the scale. The article also discusses a case study from the Marlborough Sounds, New Zealand to illustrate the use of temporal changes as a useful component of a contaminated sediment risk assessment.
