- Authors
PERSILY, NATHANIEL; BYKER, SAMUEL; EVANS, WILLIAM; SACHAR, ALON
- Abstract
The article discusses an Independent State Legislature Doctrine (ISLD) in relation to American voters' regulation of elections through initiatives and the U.S. Supreme Court case Arizona State Legislature v. Arizona Independent Redistricting Commission (AIRC) which deals with American constitutional law and the possibility that the AIRC, which was created by popular initiative, violates the U.S. Constitution's Election Clause. Precedent is examined, along with voter-initiated statutes.
