- Abstract
The article presents the case of a 15-year-old boy who accidentally ingested the hollow tip of a plastic pen which lodged distally in his right main bronchus. The object was so distally located that it could only be seen through a flexible fibreoptic bronchoscopy. The retrieval technique used involved the use of a guidewire, which was inserted in the centre of the hollow pen tip, followed by a balloon angioplasty catheter.
