- Title
What Is the Optimal Initial Treatment for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia?
- Authors
Lin, Thomas S.
- Abstract
The article discusses the initial treatment for individual chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). The introduction of purine analogs altered the treatment of CLL and established fludarabine as standard initial therapy for CLL in the U.S. Chemoimmunotherapy regiment like fludarabine/cyclophosphamide/rituximab (FCR) has resulted in complete response (CR) however initial therapy for individual should depend upon the age and medical condition of the patient.
