- Title
Reconsidering Gabriel Kolko.
- Authors
BRADLEY JR., ROBERT L.; DONWAY, ROGER
- Abstract
The article aims to reconsider the argument of Gabriel Kolko that regulations promoted by leading business executives and their political counterparts intend to subdue smaller business rivals and deflect threats from radical political movements. It discusses its conceptual framework that executives manage private property without regulation from government under the free-market capitalism, and its analysis of political capitalism that businessmen seek protection for their private property from the government. It explains the meaning of political capitalism which is defined as the seeking of regulation by leading firms to secure industry stability by dominance of smaller rivals. It also mentions the ways and considerations in which Kolko misunderstands capitalism.
