- Abstract
This article discusses the books of English author Charles Dickens and how popular they are in Poland in terms of the availability of Polish translations, particularly the novel "Hard Times." Apollo Nalecz Korzeniowski translated "Hard Times." Korzeniowski's own difficulties with money, the law, and his approach to translating are all described. Korzeniowski's handling of the names of Dickens' characters, which he always chose with care, is discussed.
