- Abstract
The article discusses the concept of ecological institutionalism, or the integration of ecology and sustainability into political operations, as practiced in Scandinavia. According to the author, Scandinavian countries have become global leaders in this practice by including ecological needs in state definitions and measurements of prosperity and modeling state environmental policies for the rest of the world. Details on eco-entrepreneurship in Norway and Denmark and eco-governance in Finland and Sweden are presented. Other topics include social engineering, eco-capitalism, and innovation.
