- Abstract
The commentary refers to surveys--conducted in Texas and Ohio--that focused on consumers' perceptions concerning doctors of osteopathy and medical doctors. Factors that influenced consumers' choice of doctors include a willingness to talk to the patient about an illness, recommendations from other physicians, and accessibility of a preferred hospital. A statistical comparison shows respondents' perceptions of medical competency and training.
