- Abstract
The article reports on the prevalence of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) in the U.S.-Mexico border, investigated by the Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS), Mexican authorities and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in 2005. A case report of a woman from Brownsville, Texas with signs and symptoms of DHF is presented. The TDSHS revealed that DHF in the border state had grown to 1,251 cases that met the Mexican case definition.
