- Abstract
The article describes the case of a 36-year-old woman with secondary amenorrhea who reported unintentional weight loss of six kilogram (kg) in the previous three months and was diagnosed of hypokalemia. Topics discussed include her medical history, detection of rhein and bisacodyl indicative of herbal laxative ingestion in urine sample, and prescription of Lansoprazole to reduce loss of hydrogen ions in her vomit and the bicarbonaturia and compensatory urinary potassium.
