- Abstract
The article discusses the study which examines the effect of phosphine dose on sorption in wheat. In this laboratory study, wheat was added to glass flasks to attain filling ratios and the flasks were then sealed and injected with phospine based on flask volume. Phosphine concentration was then monitored for 8 days at a certain temperature. Results showed that when sorption happened, phosphine concentration decreased with time and wheat was less sorptive if it was fumigated for the second time. It is concluded that these findings have implications to the use of phosphine for control of insects in stored wheat.
