- Abstract
Objective: To know the scientific production about the educational role of nursing in the care of children facing Covid-19. Method: The work deals with an integrative review carried out between January and March 2021. The databases searched were: Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS), Database of Nursing (BDENF); in Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE) and in Public Medline (PubMed). The descriptors used were: coronavirus, child, nursing, among the descriptors the Boolean operator "and" was used. Inclusion criteria: original articles, published in Portuguese, English and Spanish, covering the theme and answering the guiding question of the review, published between 2019 and 2021. Exclusion criteria: theses, dissertations, editorials, book chapters, letter to the reader, commentary, dissertations, theses and duplicate articles. Data were subjected to thematic analysis. Results: 323 scientific articles were found, of which only 11 articles made up the study corpus. It was found that the educational role that nursing plays is of great relevance to the study theme, from which four categories emerged, among them: Acting in school nursing; Provide guidance to the family/parents and caregivers of the children; Elaboration of educational materials about COVID-19; Training of the nursing team under their supervision for the care of children with COVID-19. Conclusion: Nursing has a relevant educational role in child care in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.
