- Abstract
The subject studied in the following course completion work was: Professional ethics: the perception of professionals and clients regarding the length of the code of ethics. The research is justified by the importance of the discipline of ethics in the course curriculum, an essential component for professional posture and practice. And during the studies, the following question arose: What is the perception of professionals and clients regarding the length of the code of ethics? To answer this question, the research has the general objective: to analyze the perception of professionals regarding the length of the code of ethics. And it has the following specific objectives: to conceptualize what ethics is; identify whether accounting science professionals know the accountant's code of ethics; describe the perception of professionals in relation to the code of ethics. The research is qualitative and quantitative, descriptive, through a case study carried out with accounting professionals and clients of accounting offices. The data collection instrument was a questionnaire with closed questions in order to obtain information, aiming to answer the aforementioned problem. From the results it was possible to verify that all of the professionals and clients know the code of ethics of the accountant, as well as agree that ethics is important for the accounting professional, considering that it is what will guide the way to act in the face of the professional day to day. Finally, it is concluded that bachelors in accounting sciences agree that having a good ethical conduct is very relevant, since their ethical posture influences the image of the professional in the job market.
