- Abstract
The objective of this research is to study certain aspects which have an impact on the education that sons and daughters of Moroccan immigrants receive in the family environment after immigration and to analyze the socio-educational changes that take place during this process. Data was collected using semi-structured interviews and participant observation, and analyzed using Pearson's chi-squared test. We concluded that education in the homes of Moroccan families is differentiated according to gender, regardless of variables such as provenance (rural-urban) or the educational level of the mother. However, depending on the variable of length of time living in Spain, the process of migration involves both a series of transformations in the women themselves -degree of autonomy, culture shock, the roles of spouses- and in their perceptions of the influence of Western culture on specific aspects of the education of their daughters.
