- Abstract
The paper focuses on synthesis of bioactive glass with tailored properties achieved by doping it with oxides of different elements. The bioglass samples are synthesized by pyrolysis of organic solutions containing sodium and calcium oleates in turpentine, which is an organic solvent, as well as tetraethoxysilane and tributyl phosphate. The feasibility to use the extraction–pyrolysis method in doping 45S5 Bioglass with bismuth, tungsten, tantalum, and boron oxides is demonstrated. Tests for the biological activity of prepared glass samples are carried out.
