- Abstract
Hongqiao uranium deposit is located in the southern margin of Jiangnan block, Caledonian landmass in South China and belongs to the middle segment of Miao' ershan Range, northern Guangxi province. This article systematicly analyzed the metallogenic characteristics of Hongqiao uranium deposit. The uranium content of Zhangjia pluton and Shiping pluton are relatively high, which can provide abundant uranium sources for uranium mineralization. Respectively, chemical analyses of fifteen granite samples show that the granites of the Hongqiao area belong to high SiO2 contents and strongly peraluminous acid granite type. They are relatively enriched in Rb, K, Th, U, but depleted in Ba, Sr, P, Ti, resembling with the characteristics of crust-derived granite. They also show obvious fraction between light rare earth and heave rare earth elements with strong Eu negative anomaly. It is pointed out that the fine grained mica granite of the Shiping pluton may have stronger uranium production ability. There are many northwest oriented ore bearing faults with densely developed secondary structures parallel to the main structure.the uranium ore body is strictly controlled by structure and produced in a vein or lens shape. the extension of the main ore body is very stable. The common uranium mineral combinations are uranium fluorite type and uranium hematite type and the superposition type of the two.The hydrothermal alterations in this area are strong fluorization, hematitization, silicification, pyritization and closely related to mineralization. Comprehensive analysis and research suggest that further exploration should around the Hongqiao deposit along northwest trending fault and pay attention to the deep of the fault so as to expand the exploration space.
