- Abstract
The article discusses research regarding the resin bonding of castings to acid-etched teeth. There are clinical implications related to the control of marginal leakage surrounding acid-etched composite resin bonded castings. A study was conducted which assessed the marginal leakage of acid-etched composite resin bonded castings for fixed partial dentures on enamel tooth structure. In the study, sixty sound extracted molar teeth were used, which were acid etched. For each casting situation at intervals of one week, six months, and one year, five autoradiographs were produced. Researchers reported minimal or no leakage after placing rest seats of an acid-etched composite resin bonded casting framework on natural teeth.
