- Title
The Autogenous Transplantation/Reimplantation of Fully Developed Teeth and the Regeneration of Bone.
- Authors
Feld, Leonard J.
- Abstract
The article discusses various aspects of the autogenous transplantation and reimplantation of fully developed teeth and also puts into perspective the regeneration of bone. Autogenous transplantation permits the eventual regeneration of tissues not generally associated with tooth implantation. The implantation of teeth is indicated for maxillary and mandibular molars, on which apicotomy can be performed. It is stated that patients and their families need to be informed of the benefits, risks, alternatives and at-home postoperative care. The host site is prepared before the donor tooth is removed.
