UNE RELATION TROUBLE AU COLONIALISME: HISTOIRE FRANCOPHONE DES IDÉES AU CANADA ET PRÉSENCES AUTOCHTONES.

- Abstract
A reading of Le colonialisme dopé aux stéréroïdes by Zebedee Nungak and the collective Autour de l'oeuvre d'Yvan Lamonde shows the gap that exists between two approaches to colonialism. Apart from studies that focus directly on Indigenous peoples, the relationship of Quebecers to colonialism can be described as troubled. Namely, Quebecers claim to be victims of colonialism"a stance that obscures the role that Quebec"and the Canadian Francophonie"play in the broader context of European colonialism. While Lamonde's work is rich with a deep knowledge of the history of ideas in Quebec, it does not go beyond this narrow framework. A broadening of ways of thinking about the history of ideas is possible if we turn to Indigenous thinkers, who continually foster exchange by sharing their experience and understanding of colonialism.
