- Abstract
Static headspace-GC method was used to determine the concentration of methane in water. In the static headspace-GC method, Henry’s law constant of methane in water has been usually thought to be the theoretical value; nevertheless, in fact, Henry’s law constant of methane is not the same in different sorts of “water”. For the purpose of providing the higher determination accuracy, Henry’s law constant of methane in the water should be determined first before using static headspace-GC method. A method for determination of Henry’s law constant of methane in water is presented in this paper. A device for gas-liquid equilibrium was developed. The time of gas-liquid equilibrium was studied. Formulas about Henry’s law constant were derived systematically with the concentration of methane of only gas phase equilibrium and MaddV between two phase equilibriums. The experimental result is that Henry’s law constant of methane in the test water is 64 226 792 Pa·L/mol under atmospheric condition of 25℃. At last the result was proved to be correct through the comparative study of MCH4addV and MaddV.
