- Abstract
"Conversations with Nalo Hopkinson" is a book of selected interviews with Nalo Hopkinson, a prominent Black speculative fiction writer. The book, edited by Isiah Lavender III, includes 21 interviews with Hopkinson published from 1999 to 2021, covering different aspects of her career and life. Throughout the interviews, Hopkinson discusses the misrepresentation and erasure of BIPOC narratives in the science fiction genre and emphasizes the importance of conversations on race, class, gender, and sexuality in the genre. The book provides insights into Hopkinson's writing process, influences, and experiences as a queer Black woman writer.
