- Abstract
The article examines the role of sensory integration in early childhood education. Topics mentioned include a definition of sensory integration as a neurobiological activity within the body in which the nervous system processes information from the senses and organizes stimuli, status of sensory processing disorder research and acceptance, and vestibular and proprioceptive in addition to the five senses. It also presents examples of hypersensitivities and hyposensitivities in a child's senses.
