- Title
Durch Container und geschütztes Basissystem.
- Abstract
Immutable Linux is an operating system that provides increased system stability and reduced vulnerability to errors through immutable system files and modular containerization. It is particularly suitable for IoT and network security devices as it enables secure and cost-effective updates and protects against malware and unauthorized access. The company SYSGO has developed the embedded Linux operating system ELinOS, which is specifically designed for embedded systems with high security requirements. ELinOS offers a method for selecting target features and configuring the kernel and user space to minimize attack surfaces. The security is further enhanced by combining it with the host operating system PikeOS. An example implementation demonstrates the use of ELinOS as an Immutable-OS host for a Docker server. Immutable Linux offers a promising way to improve the security and reliability of embedded systems.
