The article examines literature pertaining to anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACL-R), musculotendinous stiffness (MTS) and osteoarthritis in the knee. Bone-patellar tendon-bone (BPTB) autografts for ACL-R have been shown to have a greater incidence of knee osteoarthritis than semitendinosus and gracilis (STG) autografts.
