- Abstract
This article presents information about allergies related to skin. A 59 year old retired man had an itchy red scaly dermatitis for 1 year, involving the scalp, face and neck, upper chest and backs of hands, later spreading to thighs and becoming darker, especially in the summer. He used a popular brand of brilliantine to make his hair glossy and smooth. He phototested and the minimal erythema doses (MEDs) were found to be decreased. The MEDs, however, remained low after 1year and sunscreens were beneficial.
