- Abstract
Dermatitis from airborne contactants may mimic a photodermatitis. Moreover, the same contactant may cause a photoreaction or a contact dermatitis. This case is characterized by the involvement of two different pathomechanisms leading to chronic facial dermatitis from vaporized colophony. The case suggests that colophony, in addition to it's importance as a widespread and potent allergic contact sensitizer, may also produce photoreactions in certain individuals and that both mechanisms may cause an airborne contact dermatitis on the face.
