- Abstract
This article discusses two patients who developed contact allergy to an olive oil containing ointment. Two patients visited outpatient department with long standing dermatitis, both of whom appeared to have a solitary allergy to olive oil. Both patients were patch tested with the ICDRG standard series and a battery of 35 components of bases ointments and creams. In both cases a positive reaction to pure and freshly prepared olive oil only was found. The second patient was patch tested with unguentum leniens edition three, and appeared to be positive.
